11” x 14” — Photo print on Canson Platine Fibre Rag 310 gsm.

After a long, hot day in Bangalore, India, we started making our way back to rest and shower before dinner. Exhausted, I gazed out of the window to notice this packed bus alongside us. I remember scanning everyone in their seats, thinking I wonder what they are thinking about, I wonder if they are tired or irritable too, I wonder if they had a good day? I stopped when I hit this woman. She didn’t care to look at me; she barely seemed to care to blink. I watched her stare aimlessly into the distance, head almost braced perfectly against the window pane. She looked so still; she seemed so peaceful. The moment was fleeting, but as she drove away, I snapped her photo. Her literal reflection against the window became a metaphor for me.
