'Her Stare' Archival Photo Print
11” x 14” — Photo print on Canson Platine Fibre Rag 310 gsm.
It was my last day in Mexico City, and I decided to go on a solo walk through the city to calm my nerves. As I walked, I tried to be more conscious of my surroundings, hoping to hold onto the day and all its color. I felt a mystical pull to slow my pace, and as I did, I noticed an adorable little girl tucked into a marble cove, sipping her Coca-Cola. I turned and looked at her, almost jolted into her world, and as she looked me straight in the eyes, everything changed within seconds. Loud, piercing earthquake sirens caused everyone to run out of the buildings and pour into the streets. That quick moment between that little girl and me felt like the calm before a storm, and I found deep meaning in it. I never saw her again, and I often wonder if she finished her Coca-Cola.
