A short stroll turned to a 3 hr walk across the city of Rome. I was on my Eat, Pray, Love trip. After parting ways with my partner, I found myself in Italy for a month. It seemed almost comical how often I would notice couples embracing, kissing, holding hands, laughing, and the list builds. It felt like life was taunting me. Why was I noticing this so much. It seemed like it was in all caps but yet I knew it wasn’t. I was just hyper aware of what I had just lost. On this walk I decided I would just embrace it. Why not try to find the beauty rather paint these humans in love as darkness. I crossed a bridge and looked over to notice these two young people overlapped and gazing into each others eyes. It was literally picturesque. I was in Italy for god sake. It was a reminder that all things are fleeting. This pain I was feeling wasn’t forever. The heart knows many lives and would heal. I smiled and watched as they held one another. I wish they could know the power their love had on me that day.
